Oh. Hello!
Notice anything different about me?
And no, it’s not the bra strap – though yes it is different than usual.
How about now?
Dude, get a bra.
Anyways….here’s the story. Every Tuesday I set out to do something atypical because that’s why.
So this morning – feeling particularly um…well fed – I decided to put on something youguessedit atypical.
Well, it’s typical in that it’s neither fashionable or stylish but I was a long way from attempting that this morning #well-fed.
And whatever you call this kind of top.
(Besides maternity.)
Play “I’m too Sexy” in your head right now and allow me my moment.
Ahh….ridiculous. Jut the way I like me.
Okay – but then a client comes in and asks if I have pierced ears.
“Nice to see you, Mr. Bergman. And yes, I do.”
We digressed- apparently he has absolutely no idea why no one understands that the internet is illegible and everything should be in black and white. He can’t stand that blue type. He’s written AOL, Home Depot…etc. (He’s not crazy. Just eccentric.)
Meanwhile he pulls out a large jar of earrings from his backpack.
A jar. Of Earrings.
And 79 year-old Mr. Bergman.
He wants to give me earrings. No big deal.
How’s that for atypical?
I show him the conference room where he carefully laid out about 50 pairs of earrings and told me to choose six. Um…..
Earrings aren’t entirely my thing. I have a small pair of diamond earrings and I know FOR SURE I will one day own a pair of brilliant diamond studs. (It’s been my dream since high school.) But usually I think about rings or necklaces or anklets when it comes to jewelry.
But honestly I’m usually too busy thinking about food&co.
ANY – I was faced with this huge selection of well…they were…interesting. I settled on these three for myself, Not knowing what I would do with them.
And now I ….
Have earrings?
(I also have hair wings – but that’s for another day).
I don’t know ladies.
And that’s my story.
- Tell me something atypical about your day – or what you WILL do to make it so. (If you want.)
- You KNOW I’m hoping I get some solid fashion advice out of this, and I want honesty!!

Love your post today, Missy, but then again I love reading your posts! Your earrings are really cute–it is super nice of that guy to give some to you!
Karma always blesses those who are kind and sweet…just like you.
What’s typical about today? I made my dog an ice cream. Yep, you read it right. I found a recipe how to make ice cream batch for dogs and thought I’d try it out.
Let’s hope my little stinker will give it two paws up!
Fashion advice? Me? Sorry, I’m not a good person to ask! LOL
OOOH! I have to google that. I live in HOT weather and Zoe is petite so she heats up in a jiffy. I’ve seen the icecreeam treats for dogs at the store but so pricey!
This sounds much more affordable.
Lovely earrings angel
Please look after yourself <3 xxx
i call that a baby doll top, right? Or am i way off? you look cute!
Babydoll-top tunic?
I guess that is what it’s called. Me like.
Atypical moments: I flirted with a boy at work! But awkward because he was a participant, blew me kisses, and asked me if we were going to get freaky…
Fashion advice: No clue. I need a makeover and some fashion advice. I am cleaning out my closet and selling things on ebay to get some money while getting rid of some things that aren’t really me. I wish I had a huge budget for shopping. And, you know, more occasions to wear cute clothes to…But my advice-lululemon, and more lululemon.
“awkward because he was a participant”
OMG – wish you had that on video because I get it. Lol.
And if I recall on Facebook J you have great style. You’re like one of them models when they are shown on the streets.
Atypical tuesday theme is still resonating with me. I REALLY need to get out of my (somewhat uncomfortable) comfort zone.
I’ll explain more about the awk flirting in a lengthy email.
My style has since shriveled and krumpled since I’ve had pics added to FB, I feel like. I sold clothes that didn’t fit me right. Clothes I didn’t wear. Some clothes died abroad. Now its like…work pants, shirt. I did find a few skirts I liked thrifting, but I can’t wear them to work much because of the potentially sexy factor. The thing is, I like thrifting, but I’m so picky its hard to find stuff I like. Stuff that fits well. Within my budget. Like everything else, my style’s stuck. Where do you shop?
Get you Atyp-Tuesday on, girl! That is exactly why I started doing it a while back> I had gotten in this really weird routine holding pattern that began to cause me anxiety.
When I was in HS I was a thrift store champion. Like – we wore ringer shirts and baseball socks and hair barrettes before it was “cool” — I skateboarded too for a whiles so I sported that skater girl look or tried too for a hot minute. In college I started with rainbows and glitter bell bottoms and eventually I dressed like a scenester – part indie chic, part mod, part wanna be french cinema style at night. I was such a little changeling with clothes. It was fun. My style was also influenced largely by the men in my life somehow.
I shop at the Grocery store. Legit – all my money. BUT after college – I used to be Banana, Gap, Ann Taylor (for dresses) and Express JCrew. Yes it was hard to find stuff to fit. But then the economy and layoffs turned me more into an Old Navy, Target girl click here if you want
I love the outfit! And I am an earring person
My atypical ness of today? I got a fun new necklace that I saw on pinterest and bought off etsy the second I saw it
Go you! You deserve it! And I know you have excellent taste in jewelery. (0:
I worked all day. but it was on a new project, so that was…er…atypical. In a typical way?
I’m not an earring person, but those are great! I’m also the last person to ask for fashion advice, but I do have several tops like that. Which is maybe not what you want to hear from someone who just said they aren’t fashionable.
Typical with a dash of the atypical. That’s my final judgement.
And Ps- I like the way you dress actually. You really like the earrings…huh.
I dunno.
Maybe I will try and be all fancy more often.
Who can not look not having your atypical attitude and playing that song?
Also you should see me wearing typical: that would be Simpson character and SpongeBob SquarePants t shirts! But man, I’ve got the song too “I’m sexy and I know it!”
So I guess we’re both cool here.
YESSSSS!!!
Cool Points for Greta with the Simpsons.
Tell me, have you ever heard of Ren and Stimpy?
Damn, it! How did I miss those?
Too sloooooooow, ya’ know!
Oh what a wonderful addition to frame that gorgeous face! I love them! And what I love more is your ability and enthusiasm for engaging with people. It seems that no matter what is going on in your life (hay food&co) you are able to continue sprinkling glitter and enjoying interactions with people
So wondrous. I think your outfit is pretty fantastic. Those tops that are actually kind of dresses are just a no fail solution. If I remember correctly you’re not a heel wearing mama, but can you imagine how wonderful that would look with a wedge? I certainly can!
Something atypical today: a grasshopper blew into the house when I opened the front door and touched down on my boob before flailing awhile and then I took its life
So they get a go for it from Ern…hmm. I’m listening fo SHO.
Thanks for this —>It seems that no matter what is going on in your life (hay food&co) you are able to continue sprinkling glitter and enjoying interactions with people
It pretty much rings true. You get me.
That’s why I always say I get distracted because I tend to overlook the “holy effing shiz my life sux i need to do more about it” thing. So I try and get serious behind the scenes but even on my T’s couch I’m like this, even when I am crying.
I have to say that I love earrings and own quite a few. I find the pairs you chose gorgeously match your beautiful hair. The length and colour are so nice and you look really elegant. When I saw the first picture, I actually thought you had dressed up for some kind of special occasion because I think I had never seen a photo of you wearing earrings.
(even though – in my opinion – one shouldn’t always wait for the special occasions to wear beautiful things that bring happyness).
So… thumbs up from me, even though I wouldn’t declare myself as a very stylish person. My “fashion advice”: wear them, you look so beautiful.
Especially with your hair loose (do you say it that way? or is it “open”? “not put up”? – no idea, sorry!)
Something atypical… I cannot think of something actually happening that is out of the normal. But I feel pretty good in my skin today. So that would be atypical.
Have a wonderful day!
You think? Hmmm…maybe. I always think I have this long and weird shaped clowny face so eearings next to it may not be the right thing.
And in the states we usually use the word “down” like…I like you with your hair down, but we also use loose and I love that way better.
Well, as I said, I do love earrings myself so I might not be entirely objective on this but I really find you look beautiful with those. Also, I think earrings suit anyone. (have I mentioned that I love them?) It might just be a different style for everybody, according to hair and style of clothes.
And I don’t think you have a “weird shaped clowny face” at all (but I know that sometimes we are convinced of such things – such as having a big nose which is the most prominent part of one’s face – and won’t believe anybody stating otherwise)
Laughing so hard at your I’m Too Sexy Break Dance photographs.
Hilarious.
And white suits you!
I bet my earrings hurt your fashionista eyes. (They hurt mine lol)
I’m just glad you are choosing to laugh with me because there is so much to laugh AT everytime I blog.
Wow. You got earrings. I care. Take another picture of yourself. etc..(0:
You make me laugh! Love the outfit
Also, I’m not a big earing wearer <—is that a word?! either…diamond studs and that's all. SOO I'm glad Mr. Man with the jar of earing shared some w/ you!
Yeah the dangles?? I dunno. These were like the lesser of evils type of deal. Except I kind-of dig the star ones. Just not on me? I dunno.
You are more than familiar with my style so you know I can be of no assistance, so instead I say, “Sashay! Shantay! Work it girl!” You look lovely.
Sashay! Shantay
I can like…hear you saying it, <3
It’s fierce when I do. Because I OWNED that RuPaul album and would play it over and over again until I thought I actually was catwalking it myself. Those were the “good ‘ol days” my friend.
I love that you picked out some earrings for yourself. If someone came to me and said, “Hey yo!” <===(That's just my interpretation, follow along, k?) "Want to check out some naturally carved, cut, turned plugs for your lobes and you can have any of 'em that you like." I'd be so all about that. Especially any that would be made of stone or wood. "What gauge you peeping?" Of course I'd lie because I'd want to stretch the lobe just a wee bigger because it would mean that much more space of splendid natural beauty. I DIGRESS!
You "Rock The Casbah" (I know – more song references – just me.) with your big behind earrings (Glozell reference). I could NEVER pull something like that off. I love that there are stars in the center of the hoops though. It's like a little magic in the middle.
If I were, and I stress the were/was, a fashion anything; I would recommend those with an updo of the hair. Keep it ALL fierce and present.
If the eearings were my type of earrings I’d have been excited too but these were…well..look at em.
And…now I have to go do some deep breathing exercises to recover from this discussion of lobe plugs, guages, st…st…stretching. Gosh the things we stomach for the love of one another, B. LOL. You owe me one email about…lets see..my love of bleach and how I don’t wash my produce half the time..err…ever.
PS- You totally COULD rock those earrings if you “could” *winkwink
PPS- big behind earrings <– oh how I love thee let me count the ways.
What an atypical day haha! Crazy
I like the earrings!
I have SO many atypical days/moments.
But so much of my life is my typical routine so on Tuesday I try and DO something differently. But sometimes the atypical comes all on its own.
I think the earrings look really good on you (especially the first two)!! Personally, I’d probably get annoyed by the hoop ones because, for whatever reason, those seem to get stuck in my hair (which is long like your’s). However, that was really nice of that man… and definitely out of the ordinary!! (Really, a JAR of earrings!! Wow.) Don’t you just love people sometimes?!
