Thank Goodness Yesterday Was Thursday.
Or, TGYWT! <—with necessary exclamation point.
When life hands you letters, gather your thoughts and make a list of randomness I say!
Throwback Read
I loved the Sweet Valley Twins back in elementary school, so I couldn’t resist this follow-up. I giggled as I pulled it off the library shelf. It’s not a life-changing Pulitzer, but it’s a great way to relax the brain waves and catch up with Elizabeth, Jessica, Lila Fowler, Bruce Pattman, etc. You won’t believe what’s up with Steven Wakefield.
Guar Gum
I’ve been using guar gum in my smoothies and it really helps them develop from icy to…smoothie. The gum adds a creamy consistency that I appreciate. I worried it would upset my tummy but I’m fine. This is a poor-girl frapp.
Yes, please.

I’m all for Subway expanding their menu to include more vegan and gluten free options. Tofurkey Wrap? Gardein Chicken Salad? Sounds food to me. <—I meant to type “good” but I’m keeping it because…
Weird Dream
Last night I had a super-involved, crazy-train dream in which I received a message. This never happens. It was given to me in a sort of fairy-tongue riddle:
Work hard to love yourself for the benefit of your own company.
Basically, it’s a play on “working for a company” and “enjoying your own company.” I guess I need to work at loving myself because I have to hang out with me for the rest of my life.
Fun times. Start Early.
Yes, that’s me.
Tired
I’m looking a little haggard. <–understatement. My sleep schedule is so chaotic and if I don’t remedy this situation soon I will probably lose my mind (if you can you lose something you’ve already lost).
Thank Goodness yesterday was Thursday, because I’ve got my “work” cut out for me this weekend.
Work hard to love yourself for the benefit of your own company.
Seriously. What the what?
I can’t make this stuff up.
- Your turn. Give me a random T,G,Y,W or T. (If you want).

sweet valley twins?! oh my goodness! LOVED.
more so, i loved sweet valley high, although i wasn’t allowed to read it . . . so was forced to secretly borrow from the school library!
the wakefield twins, if i recall correctly, were “a perfect size six.” i always wondered, “what the heck is a six?”
now i know.
They’re still perfect 10- years later.
agreed. and your hair looks quite pretty! ~ in fact, if i could parallel you with a fictional character, it would be elizabeth wakefield circa the high school years.
have a lovely weekend, please!
i love ya woman! you make me smile. You don’t look tired to me. Pretty hair. I should work this weekend, but we have friends in town, so not sure that will happen.
p.s.
Sweet Valley High – awesome throwback!
Randomness..your hair looks amazing in those pictures. Not the drunk kid in the pool one…but the ‘haggard’ ones!
Really REALLy odd that you’d comment today because you were actually in that dream last night. Right???? I know.
It is getting long! I need a trim actually and thanks D!
hmmm…in your dream. Do tell! I was actually going to give you a call last night too.
Bizarre!
I’ll tell you bout it later.
Sweet Valley is definitely taking it back! I used to read those books too when I was really young, they were fun
.
I saw that article about vegan options at Subway. I wish they’d get some sort of soy protein option, that would definitely be great. I do love the veggie delight sandwiches with the spinach tho
They used to have a black bean weggie sub when I was in college. Just thinking about it gives me crazy deja-vu I used to eat it so much.
your hair is getting so long – it looks beautiful. YOU look beautiful. I’ll be working allll weekend long. Tonight is movie night with a home-cooked meal. Hopefully. I just have to convince Bee that going out on the weekend is overrated.
Busy bee.
I am certain the promise of having you all to himself will be more than enough. Thanks for the compliments!
Sweet Valley – wow, that’s from a while ago! I used to read those books. Enjoyed them, too.
Your hair looks nice. Did you curl it or is that natural?
I so hear you on the lack of sleep – currently I’m having a lot of late nights but still have to get up early with no chance of a day off in the near future.
It’s natural, air dryed. I have a habit of twirling my hair around my finger and so that adds to it. I’m a twirly girly.
“What the WHAT?” = the best.
I never read Sweet Valley High, but I’m obsessed with throwback teen/kids fiction. That’s mostly what I read when I visit home. I was super super nerdy though… I read everything from Babysitter’s Club to Animorphs to Dear America to Magic Attic Club (my favorite!).
P.S. Your hair is gorge. Mine can’t decide if it’s curly or straight, so it decides to just frizz. I can’t do anything with it unless I blow it dry or straighten it on HIGH heat.
Oh, I read all the Babysitter’s Club books too.
When I was in High School they made a TV show and the actors that played the girls were EXACTLY how I imagined them to look. Even Mimi!
I’m getting that book at the library tomorrow. I had totally forgotten about it until you reminded me!
Love the curly hair
I love your posts. I’ve been following you via RSS for a while now. I wish I knew how to follow you for real as I’m a blogspot blogger. But oh well. One day I’ll figure it out or “they” (the mysterious tech people) will.
Hmm a random TGYWT…I love the randomness of your posts just in all; I never really know what to expect which makes it more exciting than your average run-of-the-mill “this is what I ate and how many miles I tortured myself through” types of blogs
Oh yesss and here’s my TGYWT
Tahini (as a dressing base! As opposed to olive oil)
Guys I’m attracted to…(I found one or two finally! I was beginning to worry!)
Yuck. to pumpkins.
WORKING! I am an employed working person!
Two-toned scarves
pretty hair!
Love your hair…mine has fallen out since bc of ED.
I am so sorry to hear that. Are you okay? Getting help? You can always email me to connect of course.
I read that Sweet Valley High book recently and posted about it! Great to have an end to the series so you know they ACTUALLY grow up!! Oh yes and Steven’s revelation- seems a little unlikely! I’d have said it was more Winston!!
