Thank Goodness Yesterday Was Thursday
Or, TGYWT! <—with necessary exclamation point.
Yes Siree Bob, It’s that time again.
Because TGIF is so 1989. Because I’ve had a rough week.
Because I love me a good acronym. Because.
Here is my T,G,Y,W & T for the day.
T is for taking a breather.
I stepped out of the office for a bit and dined al-fresco.
G is for guilty and greedy, neither of which I am feeling about treating myself to a V.I.L.
($ Very Indulgent Libation $)
G is also for green green grass of home. The grass in South Florida can cut a…ummm…yankee.
Y is for You need to read this book. (If you want). Trust me. Do it now and thank me later.
W is for wondering why the gas nozzle won’t fit in my car.
Only to realize they design it to prevent blondes from pumping diesel in their mini vans. It’s like a square peg in a round hole.
This is the third time I have done that. Whatever. Totally Fine.
T is for Thank YOU (yes, you) for your beautiful, wise, encouraging and comforting feedback on my last few posts and always.
This weekend’s to do list?
I might need some more Kombucha.
What’s your TGYW or T for the day?
PS – I really did go outside for a breather but decided to throw myself on the grass purely for illustrative purposes. Weird.
I’m glad I did though.
PPS – I would have hopped on the mail truck regardless.

I think you’re an amazing woman and an amazing writer. You should be writing books. I’d buy them.
Yes, you got Room!! I can’t wait to hear what you think of it. Jamie’s face is staring at me right now, from the cover of his book….
I hate the acronym TGIF, but I think I kind of like the TGYWT, because it is both ridiculous and mocking of TGIF at the same time.
My “T” for the day is :
Take the time you want and need. And don’t fret so much about it. The rules thrown out for a time and a plan hatched to get where I must be.
ALSO known as get your butt where you need to be to get BTTB (Back To The Basics – which coincidentally has always been one of my places I go to so I can hear the proper choons (http://www.vinylizer.net/). Since back in the day.
But my BTTB is that I am going to get to a space where I am free of distraction, noise and consequential affect of what I think “ought” be vs. what I NEED to be doing.
So Thursday or Friday or any other day really, truly is me saying, “I am going to go honor my spirit and seek the silence I need so I can “hear” what I truly need to be doing for me.
I do admit; I’ve thought about hopping on a mail truck since you’ve done so yourself, but find that I am too shy to even ask or look. You are brave, bold and then some and I hope you realize this.
Listen (or look rather) here Missy. YOU really, truly deserve to have a space of ease and peace that radiates into the glow of your next step in journeying. I hope that you are able to find the support (close by or otherwise) that you need as well as the support you idyllically want and dream of. (We all deserve it. But not just deserve it : NEED IT and can obtain it.)
So, here is my rambling response to your bra showing again blog – but mine shows too and you know what?
That’s okay.
Get you some happy and realize you are worth it.
Light and appreciation for YOU sharing in the manner that you do. (I appreciate it.)
Lots of support, appreciation and prayers that you will find peace with you each moment from the time you rise, fall and dream.
From a space of love and light…..N
THYWT! Thank goodness I get to sleep in tomorrow
I hope you have an AWESOME weekend!
Room was an amazing book. I loved it. And speaking of books, that would be my T for today… Thousand Splendid Suns. I’m just finishing up that book and, if you haven’t read it, I definitely recommend picking it up. SO good. Definitely not meant for light reading, but fantastic all the same.
I really hope that you’re doing okay, hun. I know you’re going through a rough patch right now, but please be strong and don’t give up fighting. You’re far too beautiful a person to not be 100% happy and satisfied with life. Don’t sell yourself short <3
TGYWT, indeed! The venue where I work is dark during the summer, so the office gets Fridays off…I slept for ten hours today to make up for the horrifying lack of sleep I’ve had lately. And then watched guilty-pleasure ABC Family shows on Hulu for entirely too long. Hope you get some rest this weekend. <3
@Scarlett : Hulu is a provider OF MANY GOOD SHOWS. Well, some are, some aren’t at some try to be. Biut I do hope YOU and the likes of all find a proper place o simply “escape’ and take in the world as is or convoluted with a bit of fantasy, for that bring a bit of escape, no?
I certainly offer hope to all.
Be we;;. = n
I’d be happy about that different sized nozzle deal… Someone (maybe me, maybe not) once accidentally pumped a whole tank of petrol into a diesel tank, when standing at the wrong angle to be able to see the sticker on the rental car tank that said “DIESEL ONLY”.
Yikes.
“T” is for being thankful for the awesome life I have, even if I don’t always see it.
Love your posts – as always!
T: Trusting that I know what’s best for me
G: Giving up on people who are toxic or don’t support me
Y: Yesterday’s problems have nothing to do with today or my future
W: “Whatever will be will be”… everything happens for a reason
T: Taking lot’s of “me” time to do what I love… like afternoon tea downtown
xoxo <3
I love your acronyms! I’m glad you got a chance to take a breather – I love the feel of soft grass too!
Btw, I ordered “Room” from Amazon today. I’m looking forward to reading it before I start classes again (in less than a month – yikes!)
{{{Hugs}}}
Angela
I had a laugh when you said you don’t like the phrase TGIF, that’s what my post was called yesterday.
My “W” for yesterday was: Why isn’t it time to go to bed yet? I’m so tired!
Love the grass photos! So summery and fun!
I love your posts so much. I can *hear* your voice in your writing, and it makes me happy. LOL about the gas pump – that really is so something I would do. And then I’d feel like a crazy person. I’ve read amazing reviews about ROOM. I think I need to borrow a copy and read it…
Y: You’re beautiful Missy Miller, in so many ways.
Hope this weekend is providing you with some rest and peace.
I love this post
. I hope you’re finding peace this weekend! You’re tempting me more and more to try kombucha…that red actually looks really good!
Don’t feel bad, I did the same thing with the gas a few years ago! Didn’t even notice the size and type of gas until I went to another gas station to get gas and figured it out there! Pretty sure I turned bright red!
I just stumbled upon your site and stopped dead in my ‘scroll down.’
I live in Madrid, Spain and was perusing the ever so small English book section at the book store when I picked up ‘Room.’ I stood there in front of the 2 ft English bookshelf and read 1/4 the book! You’re wondering why I just didn’t buy it!? I am waiting to buy it through the Kindle… but I can’t stop thinking about it and my impatience may get the better of me!
A lot of typing to say “hello from Spain!” and great taste in books!
You will LOVE it. I admire your restraint.
they have that drink at the albertsons publix. i think. anyway…i love you and miss you! come hang out with meeeeeeee!!!!!!!
Call me beeeotch!
WTF…
i keep trying! texting too!!
Thanks so much for the sweet comment on my blog
your such a sweetheart!
I know.
(just kidding)
My 18 yr old son put diesal fuel in my car last year. He forced it to fit! Needlessto say, I was not happy. I’m glad you figured it out:) I read “Room” last year. Awesome book!
I love that you try to do things to take care of yourself, like enjoying a beautiful day. I think of you often, and look forward to your posts. You are amazing!
You’re so cute!
I haven’t tried kombocha yet – but I have tried kevita, have you? It’s yum!
[...] Guilty. As. Charged. [...]
LOL! I’ve done the diesel thing before too. Maybe a few more kombuchas will get you back on track. I think its worth the money, right? Or maybe our health insurance should pay for it!
