Wanna know what I think?
(Rhetorical question, of course. Don’t answer. Please.)
Here are five random thinks I’ve thunk this past week.
In no particular order. For no particular reason. Because.
1. “EMTs get the shaft.” I mean, where’s the love? Imagine having that job. All the carnage and crazy they have to fix up? They save so many lives….
I don’t think they get enough respect. All guts, no glory.
2. “This would make a pretty piece of jewelry. Or maybe a granite countertop.”
I make pretty wild looking smoothies.
And have deep thoughts while I drink them.
3. “Who wrote the lyrics to “The Greatest Love of All?” They’re amazing.” This is true.
I’ve been singing this in the shower all week. I know. Random.
4. “Oh. Em. No. That’s just wrong. I’m done with eggs. Gag.”
That thought was quickly followed by “I gotta get a picture of this.”
Talk about shivers down me timbers. I usually pop the yolks out when I eat my eggs. It makes it easier to ignore the fact I’m eating…chicken eggs. But this? I can’t ignore. It screams “MUTANT CHICKEN EMBRYO.”
5. “Whoa. This is crazy. I don’t think I’ve ever sneezed underwater before. I kind-of like it.” I had a sneezing fit while I was swimming laps. An astonishing experience, I tell you.
I kind of felt like this:
Except I was underwater.
- Will you do me a favor? Again…rhetorical question. I KNOW you will. Go check out Eden’s blog and vote for her Indonesion Pork recipe in this contest.
IfWhen she wins she’ll donate $1000 to Susan. Cancer can suck it.
- What are some stand out thoughts you’ve had?
- Ever sneeze underwater?
PS- You voted, right? RIGHT?? Good. Now do it again.
PPS- Answer to The Greatest Love of All question found here

1. They are hot, too.
2. I think I see Jesus in that.
3. I can sing it in American Sign Language
4. Twins!
5. So cute. zOMG.
Your hilarious. Can’t wait until your next blog post hinthint
I love your random posts missy.
They make me smile.
And wow your egg was a twin, i have never seen that before, its actually amazing.
Hope your having a good day.
Love Jess xx
Mutant chicken embryo?? Does that make human twins mutants, too?
I’ve seen eggs like that, but never when they’ve been hard-boiled. It looks a lot cooler this way.
<3 <3
oops …ixnay on the utant-may.
I guess it just made me think of all the steroids and fertilizers the chickens are fed. It didn’t seem natural.
No offense human twins!

@Christine – You are funny! And you know you are too Missy.
Underwater sneezing sounds like a new sport.
The egg skeeves me out big time.
I used to play The Greatest Love of All on my little Casio synthesizer from back in the day.
I enjoy your random thoughts. I have them all of the time, several, several times throughout the day, the night, the in betweens. But the stand out thought I’ve had in the past few days is, “How in the world did that mosquito find its way to there?”
Went and voted. Hoping it can bump up a little more.
Ouch. Skeeter bite sounds ugly. (0:
I’ve seriously considered getting EMT-certified. They do amazing work.
And sneezing underwater IS weird.
I’m running low on random thoughts, because my mental energy right now is entirely focused on one question: Why do I not have an air conditioner??
You are a braver woman than me, but they touh so many people’s lives. You know? They’re heroes.
Ah I think I vom.comed a little bit from those eggs. I could never be an EMT because I could never deal with preggos and babies. I don’t do well with that sort of thing.
I have voted! WOOOT!
Those eggs look weird! I don’t think I have ever sneezed while swimming.. crazy!
Voted
Those eggs look insane! (hehe..so glad that your second thought was to take a picture of them!)
Random thoughts: how does one make chocolate hazelnut tea bags? Seriously…so good
have a wonderful week <3
Twins are mutants. I have twin brothers….trust me, they are mutants.
Kidding to all the twins reading (but I’m really not, she says out of the corner of her mouth).
You read my random thoughts for the week. I may have to start doing posts like this more often. Theres a little too much random going on up in this head of mine.
Just wondering–what’s in that smoothie? It reminds me of venetian glass.
My random thought of the day: have I always held my mouse wrong? I click with my right thumb, meaning that all my fingers are on the right side of the mouse. I blame it on being left-handed, even though I use my right hand…
It has spinah, almond milk and frozen fruit –berry blend.
Yes, you use your mouse wrong but if it works? It works.
You know your title for your On My Mind Monday is like a meditative “Ommm”. Creating even more Missy Miller vocab, ennit?
Love it!!! OMMM might become a habit. It’s fun.
You could have Monday Meditations With Missy. We could all “Ommmmmm” together.
Thought I’ve been having since at least last week; “I should start a flash mob in Little Tokyo. I just need to find someone that can do the choreography..”
So confused about that egg. Uh, WHAT!?
Haha I don’t have a problem with egg yolks, but i’m not sure I’d enjoy a two for one deal. And I’d prolly drown if I had a sneezing fit while I was in the water… which I can now add to my list of reasons why I avoid getting wet
greatest love of all — listen to the George Benson version. it is incredibly beautiful. one of my favorites of all time. thanks for reminding me.
My chickens had double yolks a couple of times I think and there was no cockrel on the horizon- fear not! They were organic ladies!
Have voted! It looks nice- I like Indonesian food!
OMG – that egg really was twin chickens. Sh*t! I love the protein from eggs, but I try not to think of them as baby chickens. Dang. Your smoothie looks delicious to me!
you are clearly SEVERELY underweight .. you are promoting negative body images and your blog is quite triggering for anorexics!!!!!!!
How am I promoting negative body image? That is the last thing I would ever want to do.
This post has nothing to do about my weight or my body….not many of them do.
double-yolk eggs aren’t mutated chicks, they’re what happens when ovulation happens too quickly (generally in young chickens). commercial hens don’t even make the acquaintance of any roosters anyway, so you’re not actually eating a chick anyway!! think of it more as a “two for the price of one” offer. bonus extra yolk!
anyway, double-yolk eggs are meant to be a sign of good luck!
Cool…I pop them out anyways though.
Double the calories!
you say that like it’s a bad thing?!
Could go either way…depending on how many calories you want. I’m just jiving off the two-fer comment …no politics and no judgement. I like calories. (0:
hi missy! i’m really sorry for replying again on this ancient (ish) post, but i was thinking about those double-yolked eggs again out of nowhere this morning and wanted to deposit a bit of numbery geekiness here that will probably literally not interest you in the slightest, but i needed to share with someone!
right, let’s go. according to wikipedia, a large egg yolk contains approx. 60 calories (i wouldn’t actually call the one in your post particularly large, but what the heck, let’s go with it!). to gain a pound, you need to take in an extra 3500 calories over maintenance. that means that, assuming that you were a person who normally eats the entire egg, you would need to eat 58 and a third “second yolks” in order to gain a single pound. according to the daily fail (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1247872/Woman-finds-double-egg-yolks-box-beating-trillion-odds.html), which is admittedly not THE most reliable source in the world, the odds of finding a double-yolk egg are 1 in 1000. THEREFORE, the probability of finding 58 and a third (ok, let’s just call it 58) double-yolk eggs in a row and gaining a pound are 1 in 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 (that’s 116 zeros!). by that point though, i think i would probably be a bit sick of eggs.
cool, right? (ok, maybe not. sorry for this eggy invasion!)
oh, it truncated my zeros :’(
Ahhh!!! That picture of the egg yolks in the bowl gave me the Willy Wonkas!
I still haven’t eaten eggs since I found that egg (though I did eat that one) but I always skip the yolk most of the time.
I can’t believe you have to eat that many calories to gain weight. Holy crap I feel like a piggie I have gained so much weighT!
oh no, i feel terrible now!! i should have thought, i absolutely did NOT want to make you feel like that, i was just being geeky! that 3500 number gets trumpeted around so often i suppose i just assumed you’d already know it :\ you’ve got to bear in mind, though, that that’s 3500 calories OVER MAINTENANCE. the maintenance number of calories for someone who is very very underweight is correspondingly very very low (because there is barely anything there to keep alive), which is why very underweight people can gain weight on very low amounts of calories. anyway, in recovery, you need to give your body lots and lots of extra calories anyway, in order to repair all the terrible damage that has been done. this is going to sound hideously twee, but every extra calorie over maintenance is like a gift for your body. that’s how you heal, both inside and out.
once again, i am so SO sorry for upsetting you
that really wasn’t my intention. you were not being a piggie, you were saving your life. and i hope you continue to do so.
No foul girl! You know I am just silly.
Besides, I just feel like a piggie anyway.
My issues are so hard to conquer because they come mostly just from how I feel not from comments or anything.
You are too cute.
I wish you had a blog so I can come visit.
