Driving to work this morning I was struck by inspiration.
Stormy grey sky. Bumper-to-Bumper action. It’s not Friday yet. A textbook preamble for a “crumby day.” No worries. I don’t let this stuff get me down.
But let’s face it. It’s not one of life’s finer moments.
In light of this, I started thinking about Life’s Beautiful Moments
Wanna hear ‘em? Here they go:
That moment of pause before you tell someone how much they mean to you. That precious moment of baited breath is as lovely as the words that follow.
That moment when you amuse yourself by being ridiculous even though you’re alone.
Still waiting for someone in the office to discover my addendum to this sticky.
Yesterday Jesus asked me on a date.
That moment right after a good cry. I believe tears are beautiful. When we cry we are closest to our true self. Close to God. Such a release.
It may not look so beautiful though.
That moment when you are so HAPPY for someone you could BURST.
That moment when you are touched by the kindness of a virtual stranger.
This beautiful necklace was a gift from Joy. It reminded her of The Hungry Caterpillar as she made it. It grew and grew and ended up a beautiful necklace with a beautiful lady. She sent it in a sparkly box with a butterfly card. Thank you so much Joy!
I think I am gaining weight in my nose!
Ash, LeeLu and Kezzie passed along awards to me. (Thanks!)
I’m differently-abled when it comes to following directions so instead of writing about how beautiful I am I wrote about Life’s Beautiful Moments.
In the spirit of spreading the love, share some life moments that capture your heart. Leave a comment or write a post about it!
PS- If you’re ever going to be late on one of your bills just call beforehand. They’ll grant you an extension. Works every time. Thank me and you’re welcome.

This is a great post, Missy. Appreciating the small things in life that so easily go unnoticed is really important. Amazing things happen every single day!
I love that you think the moment after you cry is beautiful. Crying is such a hard and scary thing for me to do that afterwards I usually just feel overwhelmed by anxiety…but also relieved. That sense of relief can grow stronger as time passes, I’m sure, and the moment will feel more and more beautiful.
Keep fighting, Missy. I’m so proud of you!
xx
P.S. What happened with the support group??
Aww Missy,
I love this post, I totally love beautiful moments too, it just feels amazing when we get them, dont you think.
Its sad to see you cry, but like you said tears are real and beautiful they are an expression. I truley believe its so good to cry, otherwise you bottle things up and just end up exploding. ( metaphorically speaking of course)
I hope you have had/having a lovely day.
Love Jess xx
I love your printer note and your chat session with Jesus. They had ME laughing, too! I love leaving notes everywhere for other people’s future amusement, as well.
Adding to the beautiful moments list, from the perspective of someone living in NYC: finding a quiet place in the park where you can get away from the craziness for a few minutes!
I’ve been following your blog for a while but have never commented before. It’s true though-I think it’s the little things in life that add up to something really wonderful, sometimes without you even realizing it. I love this list
well heloooo there strangress! I’ll have to drop by your bl-lily pad and say Hi!
Missy! This is a beautiful moment…just sitting here reading your beautiful blog post. I love the moments you mentioned, gives me chills. I love watching my nieces open presents! Or anyone for that matter. And I love being able to share good news with someone. And I love the end of a kickass workout when you realize that your body is capable of more than you might have thought.
I love this, Missy! Sometimes, we focus so much on the BIG picture that we forget that the little things add up and can make us truly happy. I’m glad you did the award your own way–maybe you should start a Life’s Beautiful Moments award!
I’ve been having kind of an off-day today, so thank you for reminding me to see the beauty in life and making me smile
You’ve definitely captured some of life’s most beautiful moments, but one more that I’d have to add is any moment where you stop saying no to yourself, and start treating yourself with kindness and love. That’s always beautiful
I LOVE this post! It pretty much made my day and Jesus asked you out hahha.
Moments I love in life… baking something and imagining how it will taste .. and then eating it. So yummy
Also… Seeing someone after missing them for a long time.
I’m smiling now. I wasn’t before. Thanks.
How is it that you and Jesus hooked up?! That is what I really want to know!
I think this is a wonderful post and I love that you reference Pooh, Piglet and Tigger. Crying is substantially beautiful as it is a natural aspect of us all. I love to cry and I even more find beauty in that I am in no way afraid to express in this manner.
Your nose is not gaining weight silly! It’s the angle of the shot.
What captures my heart?
A leaf releasing itself and a tree letting it go; watching as it makes itself to the cradle of Earth. The growth that happens in cracks in pavement. Ants carrying their own back to home base, honoring the life of their own. My sweet Olive (the nudist rattie fashionista) stealing toilet or tissue paper to create a nest of comfort.
And most definitely; when others’ share what beauties capture their own hearts. It only adds enrichment to my own existence.
Thank you for this Missy – you are golden.
This is beautiful. God and His wonders must be on the minds of many of us. I just wrote tonight’s blog post after singing “Day by Day” with my husband. (It’s a beautiful song from the musical, “Godspell” about drawing nearer to the Lord.”)
I often cry – when I’m happy or moved by something or sad or when I see beauty . . .
Thank you for finding the beauty in everything. You truly are a beautiful soul.
I love those beautiful moments: that winnie the pooh quote is one of my favourites,
“That moment when you are touched by the kindness of a virtual stranger. ” beauty <3
hehe..good for you for nose weight!! woot
The note you left on the printer made me laugh!
Moments in life I enjoy … getting a text or email and seeing that it’s from a good friend … discovering a new song that I love … laughing myself silly over something funny … when my cat wakes up and stretches and purrs at me … reading your blog.
A beautiful post. You write from the heart Missy and I applaud it! I love those beautiful moments.
Being lost in memories- my mind wanders and I leap from one memory to another, remembering things I had completely forgotten about
Moments I love- when you really need a hug and there is a moment when someone hugs you and you sigh- I love those moments.
The moment when you’re walking along in the pouring rain and all of a sudden ALL the traffic sounds stop, nobody is walking along near you and all is silent except for the soft pad pad pad of the rain upon you- never fails to send shivers down my spine!
life’s beautiful moments, even little ones, make a huge impact on my life in a positive way
I love this post <3
Are you asking me out? Hahahahah!!!
